Hester Funeral Is in Van Meter
Flower Grower Lived in Des Moines 27 Years.
Funeral services were Tuesday afternoon in Van Meter, Ia., for William Hester, 83. Mr. Hester, known over the state as a flower grower, died Sunday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C. G. Whiting, in Mapleton.

He lived in Des Moines 27 years and also formerly lived in Dallas County. He is survived by three sons and five daughters. One son, W. E. Hester, and one daughter, Mrs. Paul R. Finch, live in Des Moines.∼The son of Isaac Hester and Hannah Reynolds Hester.
He was married to a Sabra Priscilla Baichtal (b. 1852, d. 1930) on March 3, 1870 in Adel, Dallas County, Iowa.
Together they had 12 children: Orion B. Hester (b. 1871, d. 1895), Bertha Hester (b. 1872), Author Clyde Hester (b. 1874, d. 1874), Maude Hester (b. 1876, d. 1934), Grace Hester (b. 1878, d. 1953), Ernest Verne Hester (b. 1880, d. 1948), William Earle Hester (b. 1882, d. 1972), John Dwight Hester (b. 1884), Viva Belle Hester (b. 1886, d. 1960), Anne Hester (b. 1888, d. 1972), Maurice Glenn Hester (b. 1891, d. 1985) and Winnifred Agnes Hester (b. 1894, d. 1966).
