1933 - 2016
VETERAN

Early Life: Barry was born April 14, 1933, in Salem, Utah, to Legrande and Nelda Jensen Carlson. He attended elementary school in Salem and graduated from Spanish Fork High School in 1951. In high school, he played varsity football and received his pilot's license at age 16.
Life's Work | Service | Interests: Following graduation, he attended Brigham Young University. Later, Barry served his country in El Paso, earning the rank of Sargent, during the Korean War. He married Gloria June Snow on February 10, 1955. They were later sealed in the Manti Utah Temple in May of 1998. They were blessed with an angel from Heaven, Ricky, their down-syndrome love and joy of their life. Together, they lived a full life, enjoying all that Utah has to offer. You could often find them camping up a canyon, water skiing on a beautiful lake or skiing the slopes of the Wasatch Mountain resorts. Barry loved living in Spanish Fork and he loved BYU football and very seldom missed a game. He spent most of his lifetime as a salesman for Coca-Cola and S&W Foods companies. He was honored as Salesman of the Year by S&W in 1988. Barry and Gloria enjoyed dancing and always loved traveling in the motor home with "the group." He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He especially enjoyed serving with his wife, as stake missionaries, in the church welfare office. Barry Carlson, of Spanish Fork, Utah, passed away of congestive heart failure and other associated health issues on Friday, November 4, 2016, peacefully at his home with his loving family by his side.
