John Timothy Bricker was born December 20th 1952 and raised in Ohio. He received a bachelor's degree with honors in 1973 from Malone College in Canton, Ohio. He was awarded a medical degree with honors from Ohio State University in 1976. Dr. Tim Bricker did his pediatric residency, chief residency and a cardiology fellowship at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston. In 1983, he joined the faculty of Baylor College of Medicine and was appointed Chief of Pediatric Cardiology in 1992. Dr. Bricker completed an MBA at the University Of Chicago Graduate School Of Business in 2002 and was appointed Vice Chair of Pediatrics at Baylor. In 2004, he became the Chairman of Pediatrics at the University of Kentucky. He remained at Lexington until 2011, when he returned to Houston to take the role of Director of the Division of Pediatric Cardiology at UT Health Medical School and Chief of Pediatric Cardiology at Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital. He was married to Janet Lynn Bricker on August 25th, 1973. He is survived by Mr. and Mrs. Stephen and Valarie (Bricker) Morton and their three children Lauryn Kelly, Sarah Lynn, and Rebecca Paige; Mr. and Mrs. John Franklin (III) and Nikki Bricker and their two children Emily Jo, and Lily Ann; and Susan Bricker and Charlotte Kucera. He is also survived by his mother, Becky Bricker, his two sisters, Carol Carnes, and Connie Byler who are all from Ohio. Funeral arrangements will be held at 11:00AM, Thursday, May 16th at Levy Funeral Directors in Bellaire, Texas with a viewing Wednesday, from 5-8PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Malone University or the American Heart Association.
