Arthur J. Childs, 80, of Battle Creek, died Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at the Battle Creek Health System. He was born February 12, 1927 in Battle Creek, Michigan, the son of James O. and Vera Fay (Tobey) Childs. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Custer.
Surviving are two sons, Ronald (Barb) Childs of Lithia, Florida and Howard (Lynn) Childs of Coloma; daughter, Kathy (Richard) Childs-Brown of Eaton Rapids; eight grandchildren; two brothers; one sister and his loving companion, Rievia LaDez. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine in 1982 and son, Bruce in 1999.
The family received friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00pm. Funeral services were held 1:00pm Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. James A. Carey officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
