Margarette was born on May 13, 1925, in Abner, Okla., in Love County, the eighth of nine children born to John and Mary Belle Luna Bogle. She died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2006, in Ardmore at the age of 81.
She married McClain Rose on May 15, 1943, in Marietta.
She was employed by Marietta Sportswear for many years and was a full time rancher and Granny. She was a member of Ringling Church of Christ and was baptized at the age of 12 at the Marietta Church of Christ.
She was a 60-year member of the American Quarter Horse Association and received her 50-year trophy in 2003. Her horses and their descendents are still being seen in the roping and cutting arenas across the nation.
She was a proud member of the Choctaw Indian Tribe, a precious mother and beloved granny. She lived for the children, grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, and everyone else's children. She loved raising her cattle, horses and reading her western novels. She lived to cook for her family and fed half the young men in the Ringling community. In addition in her prior years, she fed and showed hospitality in her home to hundreds of horsemen throughout the United States during her lifetime.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Feb. 2, 1974; her parents; a grandson, Joe Mack Willis on Sept. 22, 1999, and two brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include a daughter, Janice Willis and husband, Fred, Corinth, texas; two sons, McClain Rose and wife, Laura, Oklahoma City, Dr. Jim Rose and wife, Cindy, Ringling; brother, Carroll, and sisters, Wanda, Vonceill and Ruby; three grandchildren, Natalie Willis, Ringling, Kimmie Carol Rose Wilson and husband, Bo'don, Sanger, Texas, and Cody James Rose, Ada; four great-grandchildren, Zane Montana Willis, Destinie Paige Willis, Braidon McClain Willis and Zeb Phoenix Willis, all of Ringling; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
She is now reunited with her husband, McClain Rose, her first and only love.
Family visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Alexander Funeral Home, Ringling.
