Born Oct. 13, 1930, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Steve and Bessie Mae Raney Benedict. He is a retired farmer and a member of Ellisburg Baptist Church.
He was the widower of Beatrice Crowe Benedict.
Survivors include a daughter, Phyllisha Benedict Stuckey of Hustonville; two sons, Freddy Benedict of Hustonville and David Benedict of Danville; a brother, Stanley Benedict of Mitchellsburg; a sister, Audey Maddox of Moreland; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Charles Watts, Freddie L. Benedict Jr., Christopher L. Benedict, and Larry, Jeffrey and Kenny Griffin.
