Services for George Lewis Benedict, 75, of Stanford, formerly of the Maxey Valley community, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by G.W. Smith. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery.

He died Sunday at Stanford Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Born Oct. 13, 1930, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Steve and Bessie Mae Raney Benedict. He is a retired farmer and a member of Ellisburg Baptist Church.

He was the widower of Beatrice Crowe Benedict.

Survivors include a daughter, Phyllisha Benedict Stuckey of Hustonville; two sons, Freddy Benedict of Hustonville and David Benedict of Danville; a brother, Stanley Benedict of Mitchellsburg; a sister, Audey Maddox of Moreland; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Charles Watts, Freddie L. Benedict Jr., Christopher L. Benedict, and Larry, Jeffrey and Kenny Griffin.
