Anderson Berry "A.B." Heaton is the son of James Malone Heaton and Mattie Elizabeth (Stephens) Heaton.

He was the husband of Nell Kate (Durham) Heaton. They were married on Feb. 03, 1928 in Etowah County, Alabama, and they had at least four children:

(1.) William Eugene "Billy" Heaton (18 Sept 1928 Etowah Co., AL - 08 Aug 1967 Jamaica Plain, Mass.). He is buried in Forrest Cemetery, Gadsden, AL.

(2.) Wayne Lewis Heaton (26 Apr 1930 AL - 02 May 1998 Jefferson Co., AL), he married Helen Lorraine Orange. They are both buried in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. The memorial number for Wayne Lewis Heaton is # 144368062.

(3.) Martha Carol (Heaton) Norwood (7 May 1939 Gadsden, AL - 12 Apr 1998 Gadsden, AL), she is the wife of Stancell Lee "Sam" Norwood, Jr. They are both buried in Forrest Cemetery, Gadsden, AL.

Heaton, A.B.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Collier-Butler Chapel for A.B. Heaton, 85, 810 South 14th St., Gadsden, who died Wednesday, March 4, 1992. The Rev. Paul Murphy will officiate.

Burial in Forrest Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral Home is in charge.

Mr. Heaton was a resident of Etowah County most of his life. He had retired from Republic Steel and was a member of Twelfth Street Baptist Church.

He is survived by a daughter, Martha Norwood, Gadsden; sons, Wayne and Bobby Heaton, Birmingham; sisters, Jewell Keeling and Ruby Massenberg, Gadsden, and Jackie Johnson, Dadeville; grandsons, Barry Keith Heaton and Kenneth Wayne Norwood, and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Chuck Durham, Pete Walters, Doyce Dowdy, Winford Keeling, Frank Pierson, Jimmy Massenberg, David Cosby and Jackie Orange.

Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Mitchell Sunday School Class and all personal friends.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.
