Ruth "Ruby" L. (Heaton) Massenburg is the daughter of James Malon Heaton and Mattie Eliza (Stephens) Heaton.

She was the wife of Wythe Lamar "Bud" Massenburg.

Massenburg, Ruth L.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Crestwood Chapel for Ruth L. Massenburg, 82, 1071 Padenreich Ave., Gadsden, who died Saturday, Feb. 4, 1995. The Rev. Richard Traylor and Buster Latimer will officiate. Burial in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge.

Mrs. Massenburg was a member of Twelfth Street Baptist Church. She was a lifelong resident of Etowah County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wythe Lamar Massenburg.

She is survived by son, James Massenburg; daughter, Freddie Boozer; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Massenburg; son-in-law, Glenn Boozer; grandson, Kenneth Massenburg; granddaughter, Cheryl Barron; three great-grandsons; and sisters, Jewel Keeling and Mamie "Jack" Johnson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Drs. R. Hanson, H.R. Thompson and staff of Gadsden Health Care.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 this evening.
