Irene Schulte Doyle was a native of West Point, Iowa born on October 5, 1920. She moved to Ormond Beach, Florida in 1980 after many years in Glencoe, Illinois. She married William J. Doyle while in Glencoe. Mrs. Doyle passed away on her 96th birthday at Ormond Beach on October 5, 2016. She was the daughter of Joseph D. and Mary A. (Groene) Schulte.
Mrs. Doyle was predeceased by her husband, parents, and three brothers, Ernest Schulte, Theodore Schulte and Joseph Schulte, Jr.

She worked as Vice-President of the William J. Doyle Co. as an electronic manufacturing representative from 1956 to 1987. She retired after the death of her husband, William, in 1987.
Mrs. Doyle was listed for many years in Who’s Who of American Women, where her accomplishments were recognized for business leadership across the world stage, particularly in the South and Southeastern United States.

She received her R.N. degree from Mercy Hospital and served as a 1st Lt. in World War II attached to the 380th bomb group in Australia. After the war, Mrs. Doyle was the first carrier nurse employed by the Santa Fe Railroad. Her maiden trip inaugurating the carrier nurse service program included California, Chicago and all stops in between. She was a member of St. Brendan’s Catholic Church, the Ormond Beach Women’s Club, Keystone Club, a life member of Ormond Beach Memorial Veteran’s Auxiliary, and a former member of Oceanside Country Club. Mrs. Doyle captured many women’s golf titles in the Ormond Beach area.
