Mrs. Kathryn Marie Schomer, 76, passed away in Kalispell today.
Mrs. Schomer was born April 7, 1887 at Richmond, Minnesota. She attended normal school at St. Cloud and later graduated from St. Benedict's College at St. Joseph, Minnesota. She then taught rural school at St. Martin, Minnesota, for a time and later moved to Minneapolis where she was employed by the Munsingwear factory.
In 1916, she was married to Frank A. Schomer at Great Falls. The couple came to Kalispell in 1929 where Mr. Schomer owned and operated the Schomer Motors until the time of his death in 1954. Mrs. Schomer made her home with her daughter, Mrs. L.L. Bain for the past five years.
She was a member of the St. Matthew's Catholic Church of Kalispell, the St. Matthews Altar Society, the Daughters of Isabella and had been a member of the Newcomers Club.
Mrs. Schomer was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers and one sister. She is now survived by one son, Jack Schomer of Chelan, Washington; four daughters, Mrs. David (Helen) Stegner, Fountain Valley, California; Mrs. Ted (Marian) Brandley, Provo, Utah; Mrs. L.L. (Betty) Bain of Kalispell, Mrs. Archie (Dorothy) McDonald of Niarada; 21 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by four sisters, Sister Amala O.S.B. and Sister Rosebia O.S.B. both of St. Cloud; Mrs. Fred (Anna) Zeurcher of Melrose, Minnesota; and Mrs. Mathilda Borgerding, Park Rapids, Minnesota; and one brother George Sieverding, of river Falls, Wisconsin.
