Burton Metz was married March 3, 1892, to Miss Anna Tompkins of south of Meadville at Central City, Mo. To this union, two sons and one daughter were born. All who, with their mother, preceded their father in death. Mr. Metz lost two grandsons in World War II, Bob Metz at Camp Campbell, Ky., and Bill Metz somewhere in Italy, both being in airplane work. He is survived by one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Finis Metz of Concordia, Kans.; and one great-grandson of Downs, Kans.; one brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Frank Tompkins and Mrs. F. S. Littrell of Wheeling and Mrs. Floyd Darling of Danbury, Neb.” The Chillicothe Constitution-Tribune, June 30, 1945
