Funeral services for Mrs. Kathryn Lowery Robinson, age 90 will be held at 3 P.M. Sunday October 16, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church with burial to follow at Northview Cemetery. Rev. Tyler Plaxico and Rev. Bob Williams will officiate.
On May 28, 1926 Mrs. Robinson was born the daughter of the late Charlie and Lula Belle Lowery of Milan, Ga. After graduating Milan High School, she was in the Cadet Nursing program at the Barrett School of Nursing University Hospital in Augusta, GA, where she graduated as a Registered Nurse. She moved to Dublin and worked at the Laurens Memorial Hospital, Laurens County Health Department, VA Hospital, and Twin Oaks Recovery Center. Her career spanned 55 years as a Registered Nurse.
Mrs. Robinson was involved in many community activities, such as a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Friendship Sunday School class, handbells, United Methodist Women (Wynn-Brown Circle), Meals on Wheels, Sunday School teacher, and a chaperone for the youth church trips. She also enjoyed participating at Fairview Park Fitness Center in water aerobics; world-wide traveling, and exercising. Most important to her was the love of God and her family. Mrs. Robinson passed away on October 13, 2016.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Allen Robinson; sisters, Charlee (Wallace) Sessions, Doris (Roy) Cowart and Mildred Lowery, and a brother, Frank (Lilly Claire) Lowery.
The family would like to thank Twelve Oaks Assisted Living Staff for all their compassion and support during Mrs. Robinson’s time with them.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in her memory to First United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Sunday October 16, 2016 at First United Methodist Church; 305 West Gaines St, Dublin, GA. Townsend Brothers Funeral Home has charge of funeral arrangements.
