Based on a number of public family trees, it is my speculation that Adam was the son of John Clyde and Martha Owrey, of Mercer/Crawford County, Pennsylvania. Most if not all of those trees estimate Adam's birth year as 1812, however, none of them show any spouse or children. This is the only Adam Clyde born in that general era that could be a match.
Adam and his wife and son can be found on the 1860, 1870, and 1880 Census, earlier on living in Indiana before making it to Petaluma in the early 1870s. They have yet to be found on the 1850 Census. Adam is last found living in 1888 on a CA voter list.
