All services will be held privately and Mrs. Mahek will be buried beside of her late husband, William Mahek in Grove Hill Cemetery in Darlington. The family will be receiving friends at the home of her daughter, 519 N. Main Street, Darlington, SC.
Mrs. Mahek was born in Darlington County. She was the daughter of the late Sam Ballard and Mattie Kirven Ballard. Mrs. Mahek was a member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church in Darlington.
Surviving are her son, William H. (Terri) Mahek of Lamar; her daughter, Amelia (Curtis) Lewis of Darlington; her brother, Samuel "Sam" Ballard of York, SC; her sister, Pauline Scheppner of Darlington; 5 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Mahek is preceded in death by her brother, Samuel "Sam" Ballard of York, SC; her sister, Pauline Scheppner of Darlington.
