He was born in Marytown on Aug. 5, 1881, a son of Joseph and Mary Ann Gulig Bartel. He married Amelia Kalt who survives.
Mr. Bartel farmed in the Oshkosh area for many years, retiring 20 years ago. He was a member of St. Vincent’s Church, Oshkosh.
In addition to his widow, Mr. Bartel is survived by three brothers, Joseph of Pomona, Calif., John of Park Ridge, ill., and Hubert of Marytown; and a sister, Mrs. Anna Kalt of Larsen, Wis.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kessler funeral Home, 3t64 S. Commercial St., Neenah, with the Rev. Nicholas Johannes officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Memorial Park Cemetery at Oshkosh. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
