Jose Teodoro “Ted”, of Coyote and a resident of Española, was predeceased by his wife of 65 years Antonia Rita Trujillo; son Roger A. Trujillo; parents Gonzalo and Celina Trujillo; brothers: Apolinario Trujillo, Endalesmo Trujillo (Manuelita); parents-in-law Juan Luis and Juanita Rodriguez; brothers-in-law: Lugardo Rodriguez (Candelaria), Manuel Rodriguez (Elvira), and Luis Rodriguez (Salome); sisters-in-law: Eloisa Vigil, Adelina Martinez (Fidel), Celia Cruz (Desiderio); and grandson Shawn Trujillo.

Teodoro was survived by his children: Vitalia Serrano (Antonio) of Grand Junction, Colorado, Mary Ann Vigil (Michael Peña) of Española, Piedad (Jose Chavez) of Española, Cora Trujillo of Rio Rancho, Arturo Trujillo (Cathy) of Chimayo, Ruth Cordova (Donny) of Rio Chama, Ray Trujillo (Connie) of Coyote, Gabriel Trujillo (Geraldine) of San Pedro, Lupe Gonzalez (Simon) of Grand Junction, Colorado, Gonzalo Trujillo (Barbara) of Santa Cruz, John Trujillo (Debbie) of Rio Rancho, Ted Trujillo (Nora) of Santa Cruz, Paul Trujillo of Chimayo, Karl Trujillo (Christina) of Rio Rancho; 39 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sister Cleotilde Salazar (Leo) of Coyote; sister-in-law Adelires Trujillo of Española, Lugarda Quintana of Grand Junction, Colorado; two granddaughters that he helped raise: Bernadette and Miranda Trujillo; and many nephews, nieces and friends.

Teodoro was a devoted husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend to all. He grew up in Coyote. As a young man he served in the Army during World War II as a combat engineer with the 347th Engineers General Service Regiment. The Regiment deployed to England in February 1944. It entered combat in France on 29 June 1944 and participated in the Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe campaigns of World War II, earning its first Meritorious Unit Commendation. After V-E Day, the regiment remained on occupation duty in Germany until its inactivation on 1 June 1946.

After the War, Ted returned to his beloved Coyote where he married Antonia. He worked and retired from the US Forest Service, Coyote Ranger District, He was also a life long rancher and loved tending to his Cattle.

Public visitation and Rosary were on 5 Oct 2016 in the Chapel of Peace at DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Mass of Christian burial was on 6 Oct 2016 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Abiquiu. Burial followed in the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers: Darrell Serrano, Ricky Vigil, Ben Vigil, Lorenzo Chavez, Corey Trujillo, Arthur Trujillo, Julian Trujillo, Glenn Trujillo, Jason Gonzalez, Jeremy Trujillo, Zachery Trujillo, and Joshua Soto. Honorary pallbearers were his remaining grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
