Wade Yates, age 88, of Jefferson, Texas, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, October 5, 2016 in a Texarkana, Texas Hospital.
Wade was born February 23, 1928, in Atlanta, Texas, to Alton Wade and Charlie Mae Parker Yates. He was retired from Killingsworth Oil Company, a member of McLeod Tabernacle and loved spending time raising cows and working. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Yates; two brothers, Neal Yates, Homer Yates; a sister, Dorothy Maricelli and his parents.
He is survived by two sons, Royce, Jr. and wife Judy Yates of Shreveport, Louisiana, Gary, Sr. and wife Darlene Yates of McLeod, Texas; a daughter, Brenda Yates of Humble, Texas; brother, J. R. Yates of McLeod, Texas; two sisters, Grace Thornton of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Lynda Croom of Deville, Louisiana; eight grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Friday, October 7, 2016 at McLeod Tabernacle, under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service with Rev. J. P. Story officiating.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 6, 2016 from 6 pm to 8 pm at McLeod Tabernacle.
Interment will be in Good Exchange Cemetery.
