Dolores Autry's "Historic Linwood Cemetery" book, Volume 2, reports in her Section G, Lot 77 ("CHIPLEY" on step): headstone broken, ? BILLUPS / [born] July 9, 1826 / [died] Sept. 9, 1838 [no further information reported].

Also buried in this lot are Col. John R. BILLUPS (1823-1883 or 1888) & wife Clara (BOYKIN BILLUPS (d. 1873); Elizabeth Ann (Mrs. Thomas) BILLUPS (1803-1850) and her daughter Ann Elizabeth (BILLUPS) COOPER (1848-1910).

Note (from Buster Wright's "Burials and Deaths Reported in the Columbus (Georgia) Enquirer [Newspaper], 1832-1872" (1984), p. 37): Robert R. BILLUPS was killed 02 JUN 1836 in "battle with Indians at Shepherd's Plantation (published 09 JUN & 08 SEP 1836).
