Jean was born January 17, 1936 in Stumptown, WV. She was the oldest of 5 children born to the late Harley and Thelma Siers.

Jean graduated from Calhoun County High School and attended Glenville State College where she majored in biology. She worked in Charleston and in Ohio before moving back home in 1959 where she, together with her husband Delbert, owned and operated Sears Exxon Service Center. Together they proudly served the Stumptown and surrounding communities for nearly 58 years.
