Elenora was born on the family farm February 12, 1917, in Clearbrook to Adolph & Mary (Hanson) Johnson. She attended country school through the 8th grade and worked at home until her marriage. Elenora married Clarence Bjerke on December 10, 1932 in Clearbrook at the Seljord Lutheran Church. They lived and farmed in the Clearbrook area until 1952 when they moved to rural Clarissa.
Elenora taught Sunday school at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, was a member of the Golden Rule Homemaker’s Club, Our Savior’s Lutheran Ladies Circle and was involved with the Hustin Rustics 4-H Club. She enjoyed playing cards, scrabble, sewing, quilting and cooking; she was a great lefse maker. Elenora also enjoyed traveling, especially to Alabama. Her family was her life.
