OAK GROVE, LA - Funeral services for Owen Boyd "Bobby" Barnett, age 85 a retired brick mason and Assistant Funeral Director at Cox Funeral Homes, are incomplete.

Bobby passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe, Louisiana.

OAK GROVE, LA - Funeral services for Owen Boyd "Bobby" Barnett, age 85 a retired brick mason and Assistant Funeral Director at Cox Funeral Homes, will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at First Church of God in Oak Grove, Louisiana.

Reverends Roy Pepmiller, Paul Ninemire, Kenny Herring & Jonathan Williams will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Oak Grove.

Family will receive friends on Friday, September 30, 2016 between the hours of 4 to 7 PM at First Church of God in Oak Grove.

Bobby passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe, Louisiana.

Bobby was a native and lifelong resident of Oak Grove, Louisiana. He was a graduate of Oak Grove High School and was an avid lifelong supporter of the Oak Grove Tigers. Bobby enlisted in the U. S. Air Force and served for four years being stationed in England, Germany and Eglin Air Force Base in Florida. After his time in the service Bobby joined his father, Walter and his brother, Sidney as brick masons. He retired as a brick mason after 30 years. He started a second career as an assistant funeral director with Cox Funeral Homes having served over 31 years. He was fond of saying, "I am an American!".

Bobby is preceded in death by his first wife, Jeanette May Barnett; his daughter, Angela Carolyn Barnett; his father, Walter Amis Barnett; his mother, Julia Clara Berry Barnett; brother and sister-in-law, Sidney Rogers Barnett and Juanita Credell Barnett; sister and brother-in-law, Lorraine Barnett Monroe and Herman Theodore "H. T." Monroe.

He is survived by his wife, Paulette Barnett of Oak Grove, Louisiana; daughter and son-in-law, Sally Barnett Danley and John Danley of Natchitoches, Louisiana; granddaughter and her husband, Angela Nicole and Steven Mitchell of Natchitoches; granddaughter, Molly Danley Owecki of Natchitoches; 2 great granddaughters, Tobi Mitchell and Danlie Owecki both of Natchitoches.

Step daughter and her husband, Shelia & Roy Pepmiller of Marion, Illinois; step son, Darrell Mathis of Doniphan, Missouri; step grandchildren: Fred & Julea Pepmiller of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Willie & Karie Pepmiller of Marion, Illinois; Samantha & Ben Higgins of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; Joey and Lexi Pepmiller of Monterey, Louisiana; Jimmy & Daralyn Pepmiller of West Monroe, Louisiana; and Hunter Mathis of Doniphan, Missouri.

Step great grandchildren: Cooper & Drake Pepmiller; Abbie & Archer Pepmiller; Jackson, Steven, Tyson & Lleyton Higgins; and Penelope & Seeley Pepmiller, numerous neices & nephews and special friends, Jerry & Chris Harper.

Pallbearers are: Freddie Pepmiller, Willie Pepmiller, Joey Pepmiller, Jimmy Pepmiller, Steven Mitchell, Jason Owecki, Ben Higgins, Garrett Barnett, and Walter Barnett.
