She was born in Lowell, Indiana on February 14, 1929, to the late Cecil R. Mabel (nee Einspahr) Kenney.
She worked as an office manager for Lowell and Crown Point, Indiana License Bureaus. She was active in the Republican Party and numerous Winfield Township committees.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen (Ronald) Warner of Lebanon, Tennessee; four grandchildren; Ronald W. (Sarah) Warner of Lebanon, Tennessee, Ronielle (Steve) Carney Bush Creek, Tenn., Caleb and Kyle Bateman of Chicago, Illinois, five great-grandchildren; sister, Sandra (Neal) Wilson of Rensselaer, Indiana, devoted friend Jo Anne Richi, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Virgadell was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne E. Bateman Sr. and her son, Wayne E. Bateman Jr.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the activities department at Lowell Healthcare center or the Volunteer Fire Department of Hebron or Lakes of the Four Seasons.
