She was born Dec. 26, 1892 in Florence, Kans., the daughter of Joseph and Mary Longfellow Waner. She entered the convent April 15, 1917, and made her final vows July 26, 1919.
She was a retired elementary grade school teacher and had taught in Ohio at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help, St. Bonaventure and St. Joseph in Cincinnati, Ohio; and at St. James in White Oak. In Indiana she taught at Little Flower and Holy Trinity in Indianapolis; at St. Agnes in Evansville; at Sacred Heart in Clinton and St. Mary in Rushville; and the Immaculate Conception in Millhousen. She also taught in Missouri and Montana. She retired to the motherhouse in 1975.
She is survived by two sisters, Sister Philomena Waner, S.S.J. and Sister Lenora Waner, S.S.J.; both of Wichita, Kan., one brother, Henry Waner of Florence, Kan. and several nieces and nephews.
The services will be 3:30 p.m. today at the Sisters of St. Francis Motherhouse Chapel, Oldenburg, Ind.
Burial will be in the Motherhouse Cemetery.
Visitation is at the Motherhouse Chapel from noon to 3:30 p.m. Monday.
