Ruth Alice Bowles Mayerstein, 93, died at 6:20 AM Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000, in Regency Place, where she had been a resident for seven years. Born July 18, 1906, in Clinton County, she had lived most of her life in the Lafayette area. She was married to Ralph M. Mayerstein on May 20, 1937, at Indianapolis, IN; he died Nov. 14, 1984.
Mrs. Mayerstein was a 1927 graduate of Purdue University. She had taught school at Kenosha, WI, and Hammond, IN. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Purdue Alumni Association, Alpha Tau Alpha Chapter of Alpha Chi Omega, Delta Chi sorority, National Chapter of Alpha Chi Omega, and Lafayette Country Club.
Surviving are one son, Ralph Edward Mayerstein of Lafayette
