Loretta Hope Manford, 71, of Jefferson City, died April 17, 2014, at her residence.

She was born on July 11, 1942, in Waterbury, Connecticut, the daughter of Harry George and Alice Porter Green Atwood.

Hope was a 1960 graduate of Wilby High School in Waterbury, Connecticut.

After high school, Hope served in the United States Navy from 1961-1964.

She was united in marriage on September 25, 1964, at Camp Pendleton, California, to Marlin Guy Manford.

Hope was a homemaker and also worked as a housekeeper for Holiday Inn in Jefferson City and as a greeter for Wal-Mart.

Hope enjoyed reading, spending time with her dog and companion, Missy, especially after the death of her husband in 2011, spending time with family and friends, lighthouses, and playing games on the computer.

Survivors include her children, Eric (Laura) Manford and Alicia (Rich) Jones; grandchildren, Jon (Jodi) Jones, Janelle (Zach) Harris, Zach Manford, Aaron Manford and Olivia Manford; great-grandchildren, Jack, Brody and Eva; brother, Harry (Sonye) Atwood; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband Marlin on February 26, 2011; granddaughter, Gabrielle Manford; and a brother, John Atwood.

Graveside service with military honors will be 3 p.m. April 24, 2014, at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
