Visitation will be held Friday, December 15, 2006 from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 16, 2006 at Fairview Tuxedo Cemetery Church with Rev. James Brigham officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Tuxedo Cemetery under the direction of Kinney-Underwood Funeral Home.
Bill was born on February 5, 1929 in Tuxedo to the late Clyde and Johnnie Rivers Pritchard. He graduated from Hamlin High School in 1946 and married Jo Ann French on June 18, 1948 in Hamlin. He was lifetime resident of Tuxedo where he farmed for 60 years. He received the Outstanding Young Farmers Award in 1959 from the Stamford Jr. Chamber of Commerce. He was respected by and a mentor to many young area farmers. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Stamford.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Sharon and Jeannie Pritchard; and one brother, Edwin Pritchard.
Surviving Bill are his wife, Jo Ann of Tuxedo; one daughter Kathy Pritchard Boone and close friend Bob Burns of Abilene; one son, Gregg Pritchard and wife Diane of Dallas; four grandchildren, Justin Pritchard of Boston, Massachusetts, Grant Pritchard of Los Angeles, Bill Boone of Brownfield, and Carol Ann Boone of Abilene; three sisters, Clydean Phillips of Stamford, Helen Stephens of Stamford, and Cherry Crowley of Mesquite; one sister-in-law, Ruby Pritchard of Abilene; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close and respected friends.
