Bertha Walker, 99 years, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at her residence in OKC, OK.

Bertha was born in Osage County to Joe and Nanie Vermillion. Bertha grew up in Wynona, Oklahoma and graduated from Wynona High School, where she was Vice President of the student body.

During her later school years and after, Bertha was a teacher in Wynona where she taught different subjects but loved math. She was happily married to Fred Walker for 41 years before his passing. They lived in Oklahoma City and Osage County area.

While Fred served our country, Bertha served at home by taking care of her family and extended family. She was a very proud mother of two children, Beverly Limestall and Joe Walker. Bertha was a stay at home mother. She was an amazing cook and loved nothing more to take of her family, play “Skipbo” and provide unconditional love.

Bertha is survived by: sisters, Lela Cramberg and JoAnn Grimes; grandson, Russell Anderson and wife Staci; great-grandchildren, Luke, Landon, Logan Anderson; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Bertha is preceded in death by: parents, Joe and Nanie Vermillion; husband, Fred Walker; daughter, Beveraly Limestall; son, Joe Walker; sister, Viola Melton; brother, Jessie Vermillion; sister, Marie Thomas; sister, AddieMae Sells; brother, Charlie Vermillion; brother, Carl Vermillion; sister, IdaMae Whitaker; sister, Nellie Martin.

Visitation for Bertha will be from 3:00PM-6:00PM, Monday, January 25, 2021 at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Hominy, Oklahoma. Services for Bertha will be at 1:00PM, Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at the Assembly of God in Wynona, Oklahoma. Graveside will follow at 2:30PM, at the A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery in Hominy, Oklahoma.
