She was born June 23, 1894, in Clinton County, to Joseph and Mary Rose (Gray) Biery. In 1917, she married Dale Shanks, and he died in 1978.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Emma Wright of Frankfort; a grandchild and a great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son, Morris B. Shanks.
