Joseph Junior McDonald Sr., 83, of Morgantown, passed away Monday, September 12, 2016 at home.

He was born in Monongalia County on April 14, 1933, a son of the late Harry McDonald and Belle (Hilling) McDonald.

Joseph loved to hunt and spend time with his grandchildren. He served in the Army during the Korean War and worked in the coal mines for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joan Mayfield McDonald; a son, Joseph Junior McDonald Jr. of Rock Springs, WY; a daughter, Charlotte G. Wolfe of Morgantown; two sisters, Betty McDonald of Westover and Georgia Hilling of Morgantown; six grandchildren; Jody Shingleton, Jan Arnold, Carmella Meadows, Tom McDonald, Shane Lazzelle and Rachel Wolfe and nine great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by ten brothers.

Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Saturday, September 17, 2016 from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6p.m. until the 8 p.m. service time. Military rites will be conducted by the Preston County VFW Honor Guard, WVANG Honor Guard, and the Preston County Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 977.

Cremation services will follow.
