Mr. Jake Edenfield, 89, was born at his family home in Twin City on February 26, 1927 and passed from this life at Candler County Hospital on September 14, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents Annie Page Edenfield and William Edenfield, 3 brothers, Roy Edenfield, Ted Edenfield, and Snookum Edenfield, 4 sisters, Mary Lou Willis, Lois McClain, Veda Lewis, and Alma Curl.

He is survived by his wife, Rose Edenfield, 2 sisters, Billie Lanier of Metter and Jean Clifton of Swainsboro, 2 "bonus" sons, Daniel R. Beasley, Jr. of Plum Branch, SC and Richard A. Beasley of Augusta, Georgia, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Mr. Jake attended Emanuel County Institute in Twin City and served in the United States Army for 4 years. He retired as Captain of the Georgia Peace Officers at the Georgia State Prison in Reidsville, Georgia. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge #244 in Swainsboro. Mr. Jake loved God, his wife and family, his home and garden, singing and doing for others. He will be missed.

Funeral services for Mr. Jake Edenfield will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 A.M. from the chapel of Tomlinson Funeral Home with Reverend Earl Warnock and Elder Tommy Rountree officiating. Interment will follow in Antioch Church Cemetery on Lambs Bridge Road. Pallbearers will be Mike Canada, Wayne Canada, Justin Lanier, Jim Clifton, John Preston Williams, and Ronald Curl.

Honorary pallbearers will be nephews, James Curl, Jimmy Lawson, Andy Willis, Smith Edenfield, Bill Edenfield, Bill Lanier, Jack Curl, and Roy Frank Edenfield.

The Family will receive friends at Tomlinson Funeral Home Saturday morning from 9:00A.M. until the funeral hour at 11:00 A.M.
