Mrs. Hodgin was born February 25, 1923 in Guilford County, a daughter to the late John M. and Pearl Jones Butler. A resident of this area all her life, she had worked as a seamstress at Kiddie Tot and was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. While at the church, she was active in United Methodist Women, Young at Heart, Intercessory Prayer Group and the Joyful Sound Band. In 1945 she married Forrest Hodgin Sr. who preceded her in death in 1996. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded by a son, Forrest Hodgin Jr. and a sister, Lila Brown.
Surviving is a son, Richard H. Thompson of Palm Springs, CA; a sister, Margaret Campbell of High Point; two grandchildren, three great grandchildren; and eight nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Christ United Methodist Church Food Pantry, 1300 N. University Dr. High Point, NC, 27262.
