Her marriage was to Harold V. Wright on July 2, 1949 in Indianapolis, IN. He preceded her in death on February 20, 1970. She later married Robert J. Basney on July 29, 1995 in Naples, FL. He preceded her in death on June 6, 2007. Louise grew up in Indianapolis before raising her family in Remington, IN. She also lived in California, Arizona, and Florida.
Louise sang and danced as a young lady. She owned and operated a family restaurant with her husband where she was well known for always getting orders correct without writing anything down. Louise was also known for her legendary pies and salad dressing. Customers in Lafayette remember her as the “Estee Lauder” lady at the Blocks Department Store.
Louise loved to serve a good meal on a beautifully set table, could play euchre all night and was known for her impressive shopping skills. With her late husband Robert, she enjoyed traveling on long car trips, extended vacation to Hawaii, and lots of trips to Las Vegas, NV.
She is survived by her sons, Win H. Wright, Jan W. (Nancy) Wright, Kit W. (Susan) Wright, and a daughter-in-law, Ann Wright. She is also survived by several loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She is preceded in death by a son, Kim W. Wright; granddaughter, Sara Wright; daughter-in-law, Brenda Wright; sisters, Bina (Fred) Allen, and Helen (Jim) Orr; and an infant brother.
