Vilma Marie (Betchie) Matsko of Uniontown, PA; formerly of Hermitage; passed away peacefully at 2:22 p.m. Thursday, September 8, 2016, in Hillside Manor Personal Care Home. She was 82.

Mrs. Matsko was born December 20, 1933, in Farrell, a daughter of Frank and Anna Miklosovich Betchie.

A lifelong area resident, she graduated from Farrell High School in 1951. Vilma received her nursing certificate from the former Sharon General Hospital School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse at the hospital until the birth of her children.

Vilma was a member of the former St. Ann’s Church, Farrell.
She will be remembered for her charming wit and sense of humor.

Vilma married Vincent Matsko on April 19, 1958, and he preceded her in death on May 14, 1997.

Surviving are: a daughter, Susan M. Thompson and her husband, Marcus, Kennesaw, GA; three sons, Michael S. Matsko, Arlington, VA; Vincent J. Matsko; San Francisco, CA; and John F. Matsko and his wife, Mary, Perryopolis, PA; a sister, Joan Ballish, Lorain, OH; three grandchildren, Marisa Primozic and her husband, Nick; Jordan Matsko and his wife, Tiffany; and Justin Thompson; and two great-grandchildren, Anna and Elaina Primozic.

In addition to her husband, Vilma was preceded in death by her parents.

Interment: St. Ann’s Cemetery, Hermitage.
