He was born September 27, 1937 in Braxton County the son of the late Dale V. and Della B. Blake Ratliff.
He is survived by one daughter Barbara Ratliff of Auburn,West Virginia; one son David Ratliff of Newton Falls,Ohio; one sister Erma Lou VanNatter of Parma, Ohio; two brothers James Ratliff of Rittman, Ohio and Edward Ratliff of Ellanboro, West Virginia; and one granddaughter Brittany Georgalas of Niles, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by one son Gary Lee "Moose" Ratliff; first wife and special companion Dixie Wilson Ratliff and second wife Doris Hall Ratliff.
Dale graduated from Harrisville High School, Harrisville, West Virginia class of 1956. He worked for the Ritchie County Department of Highways, Harrisville, West Virginia.
He attended the Auburn Baptist Church in Auburn, West Virginia. He was a trustee of the Auburn Community Building and also helped Auburn 4-H.Funeral services were held a 11 a.m., Thursday, December 2, 2004 at the Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville, West Virginia with Rev. Harry Drake and Pastor Brian Stewart officiating. Burial was in the Little Kanawha Memorial Gardens, Heaters, West Virginia.
