Jennie W. Smith was born December 27, 1892 in Jackson County, Missouri. At the age of 16 she moved with her parents to Minnesota. She was married January 29, 1910 at Bemedji. Minnesota, to Guy W. Anderson. They then moved to Canada and homesteaded. Three years later they returned to Minnesota. In 1914 they came to eastern Montana. They alter lived for a time in Missouri and North Dakota before returning to Montana to live at Great Falls for five years. They came to the Flathead in 1933 and made their home since then south of Columbia Falls.
Mrs. Anderson had been an invalid for the past eight years. She passed away at her home, July 26, 1944, at the age of 50 years.
She is survived by her husband, Guy W. Anderson at home, and seven children, Joseph H. Anderson of Columbia Falls, Lester M. Anderson in the service in the Aleutians, Richard W. Anderson of Columbia Falls, William H. Anderson in the service but now in a Jap prisoner camp on Luzon, Douglas C. Anderson in New Guinea and Betty Jean and Steve both at home.
