GORDON -- Albert F. Boyd, 94, of Gordon passed away on Monday, October 3, 2005, at a Mineral Wells nursing home.
Services will be Wednesday, October 5, 2005 at 11: 00 AM in the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Orsini and Rev. Gene Ratcliff officiating. Burial will be New Gordon Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Strawn, Texas.
Mr. Boyd was born on September 28, 1911 in Mingus, Texas to Gabriel Lusk and Dora Olive Triphena Butler Boyd. He attended school in Byers Texas. Albert met and married Alta Lorraine McQueary on October 24, 1931 in Santo, Texas and she preceded him in death on December 14, 1990. He worked in repairs for Lone Star Gas from 1954 to 1973 as well as ranching. He was a past member of the Palo Pinto Sheriff's Association and was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He spent most of his life in the Gordon area.
Mr. Boyd is survived by a son-in-law Calvin Stoner and wife Ann of Gordon, a son Freddie Boyd of Gordon, two brothers; Tim Boyd of Wichita Falls and Charles Boyd of Fort Stockton, a sister; Ella Mae Brown of Altus, Okla., six granddaughters and two grandsons, eighteen great-grandchildren and nine great great-grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Alta, a daughter Wanda Stoner in 1993 and great-grandson Kevin Clifton in 1993, a brother Bennie Boyd and sisters Ruby Hulse, Daisy Huff and Maxine Williams.
