Sophia Onken age 78 years, died at her home in Francesville Feb. 2, 1924, the cause of her death being age with complicated diseases. She is survived by her aged husband and five children as follows: Adolph Onken of Francesville, Carl Onken of Peoria, Ill., Herman Onken of Iowa, Mrs. August Nightengale of Francesville, and Mrs Minnie Bronson of Lafayette. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from St. Jacob's Evangelical church, the Rev. Hauloster of Chicago in charge. The Burson Undertaking department was in charge of the funeral directions. Mrs. Onken was well known in Francesville having resided here for more than seventeen years. Sophia Hoops was born in Oldenburg, Germany in 1846, she was married to John Onken in 1868. To this union nine children were born, four of whom preceded her in death.
