Annie Marie Tallent Mullis, 66, of U.S. Hwy 158 died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Mullis was born May 16, 1940, in Rutherford County to Marvin Robert and Lillie Calloway Tallent. She retired from Raper's as floral designer and had also worked at WonderKnit. Mrs. Mullis was a member of Redland Pentecostal Holiness Church. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts with her children and grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Jimmie Guy Mullis Jr.; and a sister, Betty Foster. Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Jimmie Guy Mullis of the home; three daughters, Glenda Foster of Nashville, Tenn., Teresa Godbey of Mocksville and Martha Young of Newton Grove; three sisters, Frances Hamilton and the Rev. Margaret (Johnny) Garretson, all of Advance, and Nadene (Clarence) Spillman of Mocksville; three brothers, Robert (Ruby) Tallent of Lexington, Russell (Lillian) Tallent of Advance and the Rev. James (Doris) Tallent of Yadkinville; and four grandchildren, Heather (Dustin) Potts, Brandon Godbey, Joshua Mullis and Kaitlyn Young. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5, at Redland Pentecostal Holiness Church, with the Rev. Jonathan Hill, the Rev. Joel Boyles and Mr. Tim Dunn officiating. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
