Clifford George Hansen 1920 ~ 2005 NOTICE: the following position in Heaven has been filled. WANTED - HANDYMAN - to oil the gates of Heaven and provide leadership and smooth path for others. Must have background in all phases of lubrication, maintenance, have experience in both arc and acetylene welding to repair gates as needed. Must have acute sense of humor to entertain angels. Able to manufacture all parts, tools provided. Looking for candidate with experience in raising large families and at least 63 years of happy marriage experience. Those with no experience dealing with pain and adversity need not apply. Looking for someone who has provided untiring selfless services to spouse and children with little complaining. Mansion quarters provided for candidate and soul mate. Benefits provided by eternal life. Clifford G. Hansen, 84, passed away peacefully at home on April 29, 2005. He has accepted the above position (was hired with many references). Born August 7, 1920 in American Fork, Utah to George Heber and Maude Lowe Hansen. Clifford married his soul mate, Beth Clark on January 14, 1942 in the Logan LDS Temple. Beth passed away January 28, 2004. He resided in Shiprock and Kirtland, New Mexico from 1956 to 1990 and thereafter in North Salt Lake, Utah. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Clifford served untiringly in many positions including, Bishop, Branch President, Counselor in Stake Presidency and in the Southwest Indian Mission Presidency and many other teaching and leadership positions. Clifford founded a Training Farm for the Navajo Tribe in Shiprock turning desert into farmland and teaching hundreds of Navajo Indians farming. He later taught Vocational Agriculture in the Shiprock and Kirtland High Schools. Clifford was known for his mechanical abilities and handyman capabilities no matter what the project. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. A descendent of John Browning, Clifford was an expert marksman who passed his love of firearms on to his six boys. He wrote several articles for shooting magazines. Clifford loved to sing with his lovely wife Beth. They sang duets for many public functions. He enjoyed gadgets, collecting radios, working on cars and whatever needed fixing. He left a legacy for his family and was an example to all, caring for his wife of 63 years in her many years of sickness. Preceded in death by his wife, parents, sisters, Mildred (Ericksen) Hansen, and Laura (Porter) Hansen. He is survived by a brother Melvin (Lula) Hansen, sister Thorah (Gough) Hansen; sons, David (Verlene) Hansen, Dennis (Evelyn) Hansen, Tim (Carol) Hansen, Jeff (Lee Ann) Hansen, Paul (Marianne) Hansen, Matt (Tammy) Hansen, and daughter Laurie (Roger) Knight; 23 grandchildren, 22 great- grandchildren; brother-in-law Kent Clark and sister-in-law Bernie Clark. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday May 7, 2005 at Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. where friends may call Friday 6-8 p.m. and Saturday 10- 10:45 a.m. prior to services.
