He was born Feb. 8, 1923 in Dugger to Lawrence and Mary (Wolfe) McCammon.
He was the owner and operator of McCammon's Chevrolet dealerships in Dugger and Linton, McCammon's Mobile Homes, and the McCammon's Auto Ace's Thrill Shows and was a former NASCAR driver. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, The Elks Lodge in Sullivan, the Moose Lodge in Linton and the Sullivan County Democrats.
He is survived by a sister, Betty Mae Heaton of Dugger and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Kail McCammon, and three brothers, Floyd, Claude (Chubby) McCammon and Virgil (Pee Wee) McCammon
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger with Brother J.B. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Dugger Cemetery.
