Mr. Ronald L. Idalski, of Rogers City passed away unexpectedly at home August 10, 2016, at the age of 77 years 10 months and 1 day.

Ronald, the son of Walter and Rose (Orban) Idalski, was born October 9, 1938, in Rogers City.

Ron graduated from Rogers City High School in 1957. He served in the United States Marine Corps from June 27, 1957, until April 5, 1959.

On May 19, 1962, Ron was united in marriage with Miss Kathleen Buza at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Posen.

Ron retired from the Calcite plant in 1995.

He had a “quick wit” about him and always had a piece of hard candy in his pocket which he would offer to you; but when he couldn’t remember your name he would call you “Snapper”. He used it so often that “Snapper” became his nickname.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, playing dominoes and all sorts of card games.

Visitation for family and friends of Ronald L. Idalski was held at the Beck Funeral Home Friday, August 12, 2016, where the Third Degree Knights of Columbus led the Rosary followed by the Parish Wake Service.

Visitation resumed Saturday, August 13, 2016, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church through time of Mass with the Rev. Sylvestre Obwaka officiating. Rogers City Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 607 offered a military tribute immediately following Mass.

Inurnment will take place at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
