Lake B. Acker, Sr., 81, of 607 Smith Street, died at his residence Sunday morning, May 23, 1965.
Funeral services were Tuesday, May 25 at 11:00 a.m. from the Goshen Methodist Church with Revs. Lawrence Morgan, Warren Mitchell and Amos Adams officiating. Burial was in Piedmont Memory Gardens with Mickelsen Brown-Service Mortuary in charge.
Mr. Acker is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Hycie Johnson and Mrs. Catherine Hunt of Piedmont and Mrs. Gillie Studdard of Clanton; four sons, Fred Acker, Lake Acker, Jr., Frank Acker and Bill Acker, all of Spring Garden; 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Pearl Roberts of Oxford.
Grandsons served as pallbearers.
Mr. Acker was a lifelong resident of the Piedmont area, a member of Goshen Methodist Church, and a retired farmer.
