Thelma G. Brinker, age 83, of Pemberville, OH, passed away on Thursday evening, November 23, 2006, at Otterbein-Portage Valley Retirement Village, Pemberville, OH. She was born on February 15, 1923, in Witty, MO to Virgil and Mary (Doran) Brown. Thelma obtained her Bachelor's Degree from Bowling Green State University and her Master's Degree from Eastern Michigan University. She was employed for 29 years at Lake Local School District as a 4th and 5th grade teacher. Thelma was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Luckey, OH, women of the church and Esther Circle. Other memberships include the National & Ohio Education Association, Wood County Retired Teachers, Luckey Senior Citizens, Oregon AARP, Luckey Farm Council, Pemberville Farm Council, Mental Culture Club of Pemberville and Pemberville Historical Society. Thelma was an avid gardener and over the years has won many awards at both the Pemberville Free Fair and Wood County Fair for her table arrangements. Thelma is survived by daughter, Fareal (Jack) Gause of Holland, OH; sons, James (Leslie) Brinker of Pemberville, OH, Carlton (Susan) Brinker of Luckey, OH; 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sister, Wilma Boswell of IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, and 1 sister. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 27, 2006, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Marsh Funeral Home, 110 Main Street, Luckey, OH. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, November 28, 2006, at 11 a.m. from Grace Lutheran Church, Luckey, OH where there will be additional visitation on Tuesday morning form 10 a.m. until time of services. Officiating will be Rev. Matthew March. Interment will be in Pemberville Cemetery, Pemberville, OH. There will be a bereavement luncheon served at the church immediately following committal services at the cemetery.
