Funeral services for Delman Brown, age 87, of Lenox, who died Wednesday, June 6, 2001, were held Friday, June 8, at 2 p.m. at the United Presbyterian Church in Lenox with Rev. Tim Maxa officiating. Interment was held in the North Fairview Cemetery. Memorials have been established in his name. Services were conducted by the Ritchie Funeral Home of Lenox.

Delman Medford Brown was born near Ava, Mo. on Feb. 1, 1914, the son of Virgil Stanley Brown and Mary Katherine Doran Brown. He attended school and graduated from Cromwell High School in 1933.

On Feb. 22, 1937 Delman was married to Berniece Douglas at the United Methodist Church in Maryville, Mo.

Two daughters were born to this union, Marilyn and Charlene.

Delman was a self-employed farmer and had other occupations as a milk hauler and drainage contractor. A hobby of Delman's was piloting his own Piper Cub. He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Lenox.
Delman is survived by his wife Berniece Brown of the home, two daughters, Marilyn and husband Paul Brokaw of Lenox, and Charlene and husband Mike Heidt of Marshallville, Ga.; two sisters Thelma Brinker, Pemberville, Ohio and Wilma Bosswell, Thayer, Mo.; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Preceding Delman in death were his parents, Virgil and Mary Brown; infant sister Lorene; three brothers, Roscoe, Darrel, and Austin; and a son-in-law, Jack Leckliter.
