Ref: (Nola Landphair) -- Floyd J. Corll, son of Jonathan and Elizabeth Corll, was born November 25, 1887, at Meadville, Pennsylvania, and died May 22, 1974, in the Ringgold County Hospital at the age of 86 years, five months, and 24 days.

He came west with his parents at an early age and the family settled in Missouri. Later they moved to Decatur county, Iowa. While still a young man, he came to Ringgold county where he remained.

On November 3, 1909, he and Sarah Emaline Powell were married in Mount Ayr. They established their first home on a farm near Diagonal. Seven children came to bless this family and survive their father -- Willie Corll, Mrs. Nola Landphair, Donald Corll, Mrs. Fern Reynolds, Mrs. Lola Terwilliger and Lester Corll, of Mount Ayr and Mrs. Robyn May of Kellerton.

Mrs. Corll died July 7, 1945, and after that the home was maintained by Mr. Corll and Lester. The last two years he had been lovingly cared for in the home of his daughter, Lola Terwilliger. Mr. Corll was a loving father and grandfather. He was a good neighbor, always ready to help as long as his health permitted. He will be sadly missed by his family and community.

He was preceded in death by his wife; a granddaughter, Phyllis Ann Corll; a son-in-law, Jack Terwilleger; father, mother, six sisters and seven brothers.

Funeral services were held May 24, from the Rhoades-Wilson Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Jerrold Swinton. Arlen Hughes and Allen Hughes sang, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Weldon Meadows. Casketbearers were Larry Corll, Stanley Means, Ron Landphair, Donald Pine, Donald Corll and Terry Barnes. Burial was in the Maple Row Cemetery at Kellerton.
