The death of Miss Wilhelmina Schmoldt occurred at the home of her neice, Miss May Schmoldt, on Sycamore street, in this city, at about 10 o'clock Sunday night. The cancerous growth, from which she had been suffering since last December, was the cause of her death.

Wilhelmina Schmoldt was born near Hanover, Germany, on July 21, 1824. With her parents, John and Wilhelmina (Strum) Schmoldt, she came to America in 1830. They settled in Pennsylvania, where they resided until the death of the father in Louisville, Ky. The widow with her children removed to Kane county, Ill., in 1845, and to DeKalb county in 1863, and made their residence in Mayfield township where she resided until her death in 1870. Miss Wilhelmina Schmoldt became a resident of Sycamore in 1891. She was the youngest daughter and was one of 11 children, of whom six others grew to maturity, namely: Augusta, Rudolph Amandus, Amiel, Adolph and Oscar.

The funeral services were held at the house on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Millar officiating. The interment was in Elmwood cemetery.
