VELMA DELORIS EVANS was 86 years old
She was born in Shraders, Virginia on June 13, 1930. Her parents were the late Edward and Lyda Shrader Brewster and she was the 3rd of nine children.
Velma was a dedicated homemaker and was also a poet and had several pieces published.
She was married to Garfield Evans on May 26, 1951 in Pearisburg, Virginia. They had six children together. He preceded her in death on June 4, 2013 after being married 62 years.
Also preceding her; a brother, Kyle Brewster, two sisters: Margaret D'Agnostino and Ima Smith; and two grandsons, Joshua Yager and Daniel Berryman.
She is survived by three sons and three daughters. a brother Wayne; three sisters, Jewel, Charlotte and Brenda as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary. Burial will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.
