Lydia PHILLIPS was the tenth of eleven children of George PHILLIPS Sr and his wife Patience GRIFFITH both of Shropshire, England. Her parents immigrated to America and married in 1699 at Richland, Lebanon County, Pennsylvania, USA. It is believed they were part of the Quaker faith.

Lydia PHILLIPS age 19 married on 03 Feb 1743 in the First Presbyterian Church, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Jeffrey BECK Sr.age 22.

Lydia PHILLIPS and Jeffrey BECK Sr. had five children before her premature death at age 30 on 21 Jun 1753 in Staunton, Augusta County, Virginia. Perhaps she died at child birth of their fifth child John Emasy BECK Rev born in 1753.
