Local Farmer Passes Away Two Weeks After Wife

Two weeks and three days after the death of his wife, a sudden heart attack proved fatal to Levi Staley, pioneer farmer of this community. Mr. Staley, who was 80, died at 7:30 last night at his farm five miles southeast of Perry.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. tomorrow in the Methodist church. The Rev. C. Merritt LaGrone will be in charge and burial will be in Violet Hill cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the Workman Funeral home until time for services.

Mr. Staley, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Staley, was born in Lancaster country, Pennsylvania. At a early age he came to Minburn with his parents, growing to manhood there. In 1900 he located on a farm north of Minburn and that was his home the remainder of his life.

Mr. Staley was a member of the Perry Methodist church.

He is survived by two sons, Duane of Perry and Darwin of Omaha; and two brother, (sic.) Jacob and Carl.

Besides his wife, who passed away the sixth of this month, Mr. Staley was preceded in death by a son, who died in infancy, three brothers, Talus (Tarius), James and John, and two sisters, Mrs. Ida Saunders and Mrs. Elizabeth Skinner.
