Son of Joseph E. English and Sarah Catherine (Williams) English. He first married Drucilla Eliza (Daniel) English in 1888. After Drucilla's early death in 1889, he married Minnie Julia (Kitchens) English in 1894.

DIED IN SUMTER COUNTY

Marshal J. Thomas English left Tuesday evening for Sumter County on account of the death there of his brother, Mr. Sam S. English, which occurred Tuesday afternoon. The deceased had been suffering from a severe attack of erysipelas, which was the cause of death.

Mr. English was a most highly esteemed citizen, and had many relatives and friends in this community.

Interment took place in the Family Burying Ground in this county Wednesday morning, many friends and relatives being present on the sad occasion.
